What samples can the ICP-MS testing service handle?
The service mainly covers liquids common in the semiconductor and chemical industries — high-purity chemicals, UPW, acids and bases, solvents, cleaning solutions, etchants, plating baths, and other process liquids. Actual feasibility depends on SDS, matrix composition, and safety.
Can ICP-MS analysis reach ppq level?
Depending on sample type, matrix, target elements, sample preparation, blank control, and instrument conditions, some samples can be evaluated at ppq–ppt level. The actual achievable level is confirmed against sample conditions and test results; ppq is not guaranteed for every sample or element.
What do ppq, ppt, and ppb mean?
ppb, ppt, and ppq are concentration tiers — parts per billion, per trillion, and per quadrillion respectively. The lower the concentration, the more demanding the requirements on blanks, container cleanliness, sample preparation, and instrument conditions.
Why do semiconductor chemicals need ICP-MS testing?
Semiconductor processes are highly sensitive to metal contamination. Trace metals in high-purity chemicals, UPW, acids and bases, and solvents can affect process stability, defect control, and material quality. ICP-MS is used to track trace metals and ultra-trace contamination.
What information should we share before submitting samples?
Please share sample name, SDS, main composition, target elements, target specifications, sample quantity, preferred reporting units, and safety information. If the sample is corrosive, volatile, flammable, or otherwise hazardous, flag this in advance.
Can chemical-industry liquid samples be analyzed?
Yes — feasibility is evaluated against sample properties. Common requests include elemental impurity analysis in raw-material liquids, process liquids, cleaning solutions, additives, solvents, and other chemical-industry liquids. Feasibility is confirmed against matrix and target elements.
Will the report include LOD, LOQ, or QC data?
LOD, LOQ, blank, repeatability, spike recovery, QC check, and similar items can be discussed and included based on the scope. The exact report content and QC items are confirmed before the work starts.
How does ICP-MS testing differ from ICP-MS method development?
The testing service delivers analytical results and reports for samples you submit. Method development and transfer helps you build an analytical method, SOP, and QC workflow that can be executed in your own lab. The two can be scoped separately or together.
